The
BRASSETT FamilyNewsletter
Welcome to No 10 Newsletter
Well here we are finally another Newsletter and we have reached double figures, YES I know it has taken time. and I have been putting things together its just having the time to pull it all into the same place.
I have been very busy putting together all the information that has been passed onto me, So at this point the main people to thank are Sylvia and David who have provided me with so much on the Brassett Family.
B i r t h d a y s
I know there have been a lot of Birthdays since the last Newsletter, so from this newsletter I'm going to suggest something new.
If you go onto the web-site and leave a message on the notice board giving the title as the Name and Date of the Birthday, do this about a week before the day and then we can all leave messages under your notice for the person concerned.
F a m i l y T r e e
The tree is now looking pretty good and all I have to do now is work out how to print it out in an easy to read order.
I still have some more details to input and there is still some information we need to put the final touches to the file.
1 If you have family members under 20 years old can you let me have their details as we
seem to have very little info on the years since the 1980's
Name, Date of Birth, Place of Birth, Parents, Grand Parents
I am also putting together a list of Surname's connected with the Brassett Family
email me the surname and its Connection so that we can make up the list
M a k i n g C o n t a c t
Here are a couple of emails that we have received over the past few months, giving us more connections around the world.

Subject: hello sylvia
hello sylvia,
my name is james brassett - son of jim brassett.
hi, how you doing?
i believe you have been communicating with my dad a bit about the brassett family tree(s). it all sounds quite interesting to me and i wondered if i might be able to get a copy of the newsletter? also if there is any website, i'd be really interested?
i can't contribute anything at the moment, but you might be interested to know that another family -the Moads - who married through John William Brassett, have strong connections with the 'Jarrow marches'. there are even rumours that Keir Hardie (the founder of the labour party) is a great great great uncle of mine!
anyway, i would be interested to see anything that has been created.
warmest regards, james.

HISTORY
I have stuff on the section that comes from Bucks and some history on Chetwode, Fringford and Preston Bissett, with Maps and Photo's. Does anyone have the same sort of thing for the East London and Essex sections in the UK and other sections around the world.
send stuff to me by email to
history@brassett.netHITS
We have now had over 500 hits on the web-site, this is one of the best notice boards of its kind, other family boards are only getting a few hits a month ours is going great guns compared to them.
This is a great way to make contact with each other, We will be connecting to the national Family notice board network soon so every time we get a hit we will move up the league table.
C
OLOURSThe web-site colours are going to change each month.
At present they are Arsenal Red, The front runners for March are Chelsea Blue and West Ham Claret & Blue.
To add your vote go onto the web-site and place your vote under the previous notices on the board.
LINKS
Let me know if you have web-sites connected to your work, business or hobbies we can set up a link between each other. Also any other Brassett Family web-sites
GRAPHS and PLANS
To get more things going further I want to put profiles on everyone on the site, to kick things off how about everyone doing a small profile on themselves around 30-50 words and have any of you got photo's that we can put with them.
I Think it would be good to see what we all look like, so if you have anything email it to me as a JPEG file and ill sort out about getting it on the site for everyone to see.
Plenty have come my may over the past few weeks so I look forward to receiving thing from you. send photos to
pictures@brassett.netFURTHER UPGRADE
I hope to have some more things on the we-site over the next few week, I will mainly depend on were I end up living and if I have to spend some time off the net.
I hope this will not be for to long if it does happen.
USA Connections
I have been getting emails from the USA via the web-site and so have been putting together something on Brassett's there as well.
We do have some contacts in the USA so it would be good if any of you could come up with some web-sites that we may be able to get information from.
I have also been getting information from NewsGenealogy.com and Rootsweb. they have sent me a long list of web-sites that are connected to State, County and Parish sites.
It would help if anyone had anything more detailed. Sylvia has given me some information and that has helped, but the more the better.
email me via
usafamily@brassett.netON A LIGHTER NOTE
I have in previous newsletters come up with various Brassett facts. So recently I went to check one out.
BRASSETT POINT is in Abbey Road, East London. as it came up as a business address I thought it would be an office block, BUT to my surprise its an 18 Story very run down Block of Flats.
I have checked with the local Council and they don't seem to know how the building was named. On the sign out side it even has letter missing from the name and it now spells
BRASS TT PO NT
and Finally
I'm still in the flat but not for long, need to move out by the 22nd of April.
so if anyone's got a spare shed a the bottom of the garden let me know
